The grassroots Polish response to Ukrainian refugees after February 2022 demonstrates the growth of citizen’s aid and the urgency of global migration.
Our research examines why ordinary Polish citizens responded to Ukrainian refugees. While elevating the voices of Ukrainian refugees and Polish hosts, we consider what these activities do and how this aid impacts refugees, Polish identity, Polish-Ukrainian relations, identity in Central and Eastern Europe, as well as humanitarian aid. What lessons can be learned from Poland’s recent experiences?
